Why wrap

A new car, without the new car

Factory color palettes are safe by design: silver, white, black, maybe one blue. A wrap opens the whole catalog: satin battleship gray, gloss midnight purple, matte olive, color-shift films that read differently at every angle. And because the vinyl sits on top of the paint rather than replacing it, the decision is reversible. Get bored in three years, peel it, and the factory finish is waiting underneath, preserved.

That reversibility is also a financial argument. Resale buyers and dealers want factory color codes to match; a repaint raises questions a wrap never does. Lease returns need to come back in original condition, and a wrap makes the whole lease a protected term. For businesses, wrapped fleet vehicles are rolling signage that converts back into plain vans at the end of their service life.

Material matters more in wraps than almost any other film service. We install cast vinyl only, the grade engineered to stretch into door handles, curves, and recesses without fighting back. The cheap stuff has its place; that place is flat signboards, not your quarter panels.

Material honesty

Cast vs. calendared vinyl

If a wrap quote seems too good to be true, the material is usually why. Here’s the difference:

Comparison of cast and calendared vinyl wrap materials
MaterialVehicle lifespanStrengthsTrade-offs
Cast vinyl5–7 yearsConforms to curves and recesses, color-stable, shrinks minimally, removes cleanlyHigher material cost
Calendared vinyl1–3 yearsCheap, fine for flat signageShrinks and lifts on curves and fades faster. Not something we put on vehicles

Every wrap we quote specifies the exact film line by name, so you can compare quotes on equal footing.
